Tan Kin Lian became the General Manager of NTUC Income in 1977. He was then named as the Chief Executive Officer and served in this position till 2007. Under Tan Kin’s leadership, the company grew from S$28 million in assets in 1977 to over S$17 billion in 2007 with over one million policyholders.
He served as the President of the International Co-operative Banks Mutual Insurance Federation from 1992 to 1997. After retiring from NTUC Income in 2007, he has provided free financial advice and opinion on current affairs through his blog.
